Enterprise and Governance

Definition

SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls 2) is a security framework that defines criteria for managing customer data based on five trust service criteria: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. SOC 2 compliance demonstrates that a company has adequate controls to protect customer data.

Example

Shogo maintains SOC 2 Type II compliance, meaning an independent auditor has verified that our security controls operate effectively over time, not just at a single point.

Why it matters

SOC 2 compliance is often a prerequisite for enterprise sales. Without it, many companies won't consider your product regardless of its capabilities.
